Also, some tips are earned from umbrella rentals, The weekly bonus is $25.00. Upon completion of your contract, you will earn an average of $350.00-$450.00 weekly. Duties: Rental stands have 12-15 umbrellas to put up each morning and rent to the public. After umbrellas are erected, you will stay at or near your guard tower, except during your 45-minute lunch break. At 4:00 p.m. you begin stowing umbrellas in storage boxes on beach. At 5:00 p.m., you may leave your station to check in at main office. Lifeguard of the Year and Runner-Up will receive a cash bonus. Transportation: Riding to and from work will not pose a problem as several guards will have their own vehicles. Housing: The Lifeguard House is about 1/4 mi. from main office. There are several restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Housing cost is $70 per week. This fee includes electric and water up to $200.00/mo. Excess utility charges will be divided between residents. Employees have full use of fully equipped gym w/racquetball courts at a minimum fee. Some nightclubs extend free membership to Life Guards and some restaurants give meal discounts. Training: You will receive your Ocean Life Guard Certification before manning a station alone. 2-3 days will be spent with a veteran guard to absorb rental techniques and general daily standard of operations. This job requires you to basically be your own boss. You will not have anyone standing over you giving orders. However, if you need assistance, we have 2-3 supervisors in 4-wheel drive vehicles that can be contacted with your 2-way radio. Notice: The law requires that swimmers or bathers go no further out than chest deep. Your main role is to keep people within the safe zone and to advise them of dangerous situations. You will be trained in this area. You will not receive your first paycheck for 2 weeks, so you will need to have sufficient funds to carry you during this time. Your last paycheck will be for 2 weeks, plus your bonus. This amount should be between $700.00 and $1000.00, depending on your bonus and the number of days you work the last 2 weeks.

Concession Work We have 8 lemonade carts on the beach. The salary for them is a % of gross sales, plus tips, which means these workers usually earn about $60.00 to $80.00 per day. Most of the Lemonade staff are trained to be lifeguards after their arrival in order to qualify for either job. (If you want to be a lifeguard, it is advisable to get your lifeguard certification prior to your arrival to expedite length of training in the United States.) |

Job Duration: Anytime from May 15 through September 3 Hours: 7:45 a.m.—5:00 p.m., with 45-minute lunch break Each guard is supplied with a first aid box, rescue can, and hand-held 2-way radio with direct contact to the Police Dept. and Mobile Supervisors. Stations must be manned at 8:00 a.m. sharp, and lunch must not exceed 45 minutes. Salary: $375.00 per wk., plus a commission on umbrella rentals. A weekly $25.00 bonus is paid at the end of the summer for the number of full weeks worked during the course of the summer. |
